Kendal Calling and Moor Music Festivals were a great opportunity for Woolgather to constitute their performative and installation objectives. As well as marking the return of the Raincloud performance and the Sunscreen installations, Woolgather executed an interactive, performance piece, with a giant costume of the 'Very Hungry Caterpillar' made in the style of a Chinese festival dragon. It roamed around the festivals, looking for something to eat, whilst inviting people to join Woolgather inside the caterpillar.
Also, new to the Woolgather compendium, was the 'Light Show Tents'. A series of regular, camping tents, each with a light that projected a rotating series of light silhouettes onto the surfaces of the tents. Each silhouette told an influential child-hood story from iconic tales and films such as Star Wars, Batman, The Hungry Caterpillar, Spiderman, The Karate Kid and Harry Potter. ("Unfortunately, due to the lack of light, these were very difficult to photograph, so I do apologize for the bad documentation!" - Tom) |
